Miscellaneous stuff didn’t have the right ring to it, so here’s a bunch of other stuff I created over the years that doesn’t fit into the previous portfolio categories. You’ll see logo designs (one with a newly created font), stationery design and other corporate identity material at the bottom of the page. But let’s get the ball rolling with some fun stuff we created for Astro-To-Go, an astrology website. ATG offered cool zodiac merchandise, some of which we created, like t-shirts, greeting cards, fortune cookies and bumper stickers!
When developing the branding/positioning strategy for Astro-To-Go, we wanted to appeal to older users who grew up with astrology, while luring younger initiates. We escehewed any imagery that was dark, occultish or new-agey, opting instead for a sunny, playful, retro-hip design. Step one was designing twelve zodiac icons that delivered the goods. You can see them all in the bumper stickers below (plus one lead-off general branding sticker). Scroll down and find your sign!
Astro-To-Go was in the divination business, so we came uo with this stellar gifting (and branding opportunity). We wrote dozens of clever fortune messages, designed an awesome package label and contracted the fortune cookie production to the fortune cookie experts. They were a great hit. Tasty too.

Yep. Astro-To-Go was in the divination business, so we came uo with this stellar gifting (and branding opportunity). We wrote dozens of clever fortune messages, designed an awesome package label and contracted out the fortune cookie production to, well, the fortune cookie experts. They were a great hit. Tasty too.
Birthday cards, baby showers, love notes, anniversaries. Every occasion was a good time to send out a quick Astro-To-Go eCard. All the GIF files here are presented in pairs with the setups above and punchlines below. The greeting cards were usually accompanied by a personalized horoscope (and another sale).
Moving from the stars to the kitchen, here’s my one and only fridge magnet, a trade show giveaway in support of International Paper’s FreshCap campaign.
Logos, Font Design, Stationery, Corporate Identity
Let’s start with the logo we designed for FreshCap, which was embossed on every spout cap. We also created a new font for the copy, appropriately titled “Freshy!” More examples of logos, slogans and other related CI materials are featured below.

Milk Carton Side Panels
Whaaaaa? Yes, milk carton side panels. I created a very successful business around positive messaging for K-12 students on half-pint milk containers, featuring some of the biggest brands and teen idol pop stars in the world. To get the full story, check out the MediaMan section under the Ad Guy menu, or just browse through all the cool panels below. The small size of the side panels and the restriction of using only line art (usually in a single color) made this quite a design challenge!
MilkRocks Side Panels
When tweens and teens turned away from milk, gulping down sugar-loaded caffeinated sodas instead, we enlisted the help of teen idol pop stars to tout milk, health and nutrition.
